Pattaya is a coastal town on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand

Pattaya is a coastal town on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, just two hour’s drive (130km) from Bangkok in the province of Chonburi. The city and beach is a popular destination for tourists, Thais and foreign expatriates alike.
Due to the city’s proximity to the capital it is fast becoming Thailand’s second city. Many foreign businesses have their Asian headquarters there. This is especially true for western businesses. It is obviously much easier to accommodate a western businessman in a city like Pattaya rather than somewhere in the middle of Isaan, for example.

It is not only big business that is on the up in Pattaya. Smaller businesses are booming here. Not long ago the city consisted of the main walking street and a few soi’s coming off it, as well as the front along the beach road. Now the city has spread out and has thousands of small, independently owned bars and restaurants throughout the city.
This makes Pattaya an interesting place to visit for either a few days during your holiday around Thailand or to spend a serious amount of time each year. Many people set out to just visit for a short time, but end up spending much longer than they anticipated after experiencing the laid back, relaxing and very friendly atmosphere of the city.
If you are planning on spending more than a few days in Pattaya and feel that maybe you could spend some – or maybe all – of your time in the city, why not think about buying a property?
The properties available in the East of the city are very good value and are situated ideally for short term or long term stays alike. Properties in this area are just far enough out of town to avoid all the noise and hustle-and-bustle, whilst being within easy reach of the city and all that it has to offer.
There are many east Pattaya houses for sale at any given time. Not because they aren’t sought after, but because the area is undergoing serious development work because it is a very desirable place to live. Considering how much you will get for your money, and the actual location of the house itself, you will find that properties in Pattaya are a fraction of what you would pay in the West.
A house in Pattaya is a good, sound investment as well as being a wonderful place to spend your free time.
